Quick & Easy Birthday Card with Torn Layers

Happy New Year, Friends! Today’s card is all about simple stamping and torn layers. I’m starting the year off with a simple card you can create last minute if you need to.

The Details

I pulled out one of my favorite Unity Stamp Company sentiment kits called Aging Gorgeously. It has this beautiful flower and lots of great sentiments. I stamped the flowers along the edges of the center panel and then simply matted it with some black cardstock. I can never have enough birthday cards, so I went with the lovely “wishing you a happy birthday” sentiment. Pretty sure I’m going to need to change the name of my blog to “Your Place for all Things Birthday Cards” because it is my most created theme.

Since the card is fairly simple, I wanted the sentiment to have something extra. I stamped it on some more kraft cardstock and then tore the top and bottom. I like to tear towards me so I get a fabulous textured edge. To help it pop against the background, I decided a matching layer of torn vellum would do the trick. A few gold Nuvo Drops finished everything off quite nicely.
