Testing My Luck with a Shattered Mirror Birthday Card + Video

I am shattering some mirrors today, the stamping way! Hopefully, that means I’m safe from 7 years of bad luck. Unity Stamp Company released a bunch of new background stamps and I can’t wait to share how to create this shattered mirror background.

The Card

The Details

The Shatter background is perfect for so many cards. I’ve seen it used in masculine and grungy ways but it works for soft and feminine styles too. It turned out to be the perfect backdrop for this elegant cluster of florals from the In My Thoughts, Girl stamp set. The matte ‘cracking’ of the embossing powder looks fantastic against the foil cardstock. Just like a shattered mirror.

I love the texture and shine of this background. It is difficult to capture the shine but this card sparkles in real life.
