Fall cardmaking just makes my heart happy. There’s something about pumpkins, leaves, and cozy sayings that feels like wrapping up in your favorite blanket with a warm drink. Today I’m sharing two autumn-inspired cards featuring the brand-new Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice sentiment kit from Unity Stamp Company. I used Distress Watercolor Pencils to bring both designs to life, and they were such a joy to color. There’s even a quick Jam Sesh video for the pumpkin card if you want to watch it come together.

Pumpkin Spice Happiness

This card is all about cozy fall comfort. Since the sentiment is pumpkin spice themed, it only made sense to pair it with a big, bold pumpkin background. I reached for my favorite trendy pumpkin tones—orange, warm grey, and a playful pop of blue—for a fresh yet rustic mix. The banner sentiment takes center stage, tied off with a simple bow of gray twine for texture. And of course, I couldn’t resist adding the tiniest coffee cup from the stamp set as a nod to those pumpkin spice lattes we all love. It’s such a cheerful way to say thanks or brighten someone’s day.

When I created the background, I let the Distress Watercolor Pencils do the heavy lifting. The colors blend so beautifully on cardstock, giving the pumpkins depth and variation without a lot of fuss. If you are not comfortable watercoloring on cardstock, use your favorite watercolor paper instead.

Falling Leaves of Autumn

For the second card, I wanted to capture that magical moment when the leaves begin to change. The sentiment is so thoughtful, reminding us to slow down, so a background full of scattered leaves felt just right. I watercolored with shades of red, yellow, and soft violet for a colorful yet serene fall scene. It’s the kind of background that instantly sets the mood for the season.

The sentiment banner is framed with just a few extra leaves from the stamp set, fussy cut, and adhered. I love how they seem to be tumbling down around the words, echoing the feeling of falling leaves. The black twine bow pulls the whole card together with a simple but striking accent.
