An Easy No Stamping Card with a Rustic Forest Scene

What, a no stamping card? Yep, I’m totally doing that today.

The best part of today’s card might be how little it needed. I pulled out some favorite Unity Stamp Company supplies to create a rustic forest scene that comes together with just papers, a stencil, and ink. Ok, and maybe one little sentiment stamp.

Stenciled Forest Scene

I started with the text patterned paper because I loved the idea of building the whole scene right over it. I die cut it with the Deckle & Stitches die before stenciling. Once I laid the Pine Ridge Silhouette stencil on top, the card kind of took off from there. Keeping the top trees softer and the bottom row deeper gave it that layered forest look with a misty and off in the distance feel.

Gina K Ink colors: Dark Spruce, Cadet Blue & Kraft

After that, I just played with the little details that make a card feel finished. I masked off the top tree line, blended in a hint of cloudy sky, then warmed up the edges with brown ink to age it a bit. The torn sentiment strips and matte enamel dots were the final little touches, and I love what they added.

Sometimes a good no stamping card idea is really just about letting the paper, ink, and little details do their thing. This would be so easy to change up with a different stencil or favorite papers from your stash.
