Yay Day Birthday Card Ideas + A New Color Inspo!

I’m all about birthday cards today!!!

I was so thrilled to see the new Hero Arts Yay Day Monthly Hero show up because this one is full of birthday goodness.

With all the fun dies, stamps, and cardstock in the kit, I knew I wanted to make a trio of cards right away. My new Color Inspo Swatch helped guide the colors, and I love how fantastic these birthday card ideas turned out.

Color Inspo Swatch No. 3

I used the colors in different combinations across all three cards, and they felt just right for a birthday theme. Soft, playful, and full of happy little pops of color. You’re welcome to give it a whirl in your own cards or save it for later.

Happy in Every Color

This card was first in line. The alphabet dies were way too cute to ignore, and I knew right away I wanted that big HAPPY cutout with stripes of color tucked behind it. I used all five swatch colors here, making it feel bright, playful, and so birthday happy!

Colorwheel Cardstock Colors: Blush, Coral, Lavender, Saffron, & Waterfall

This turned out to be my favorite of the bunch. Clean and simple always gets me, especially when the color is doing the fun part. The white space keeps it crisp. The little stars are just enough. And I have a bunch of strips left and plan to mix them up to make a few more.

Birthday Balloons and Sparkle

Nothing says birthday quite like balloons. I pulled in all the swatch colors again and layered them up for that full party feel. The teal balloon became the star, which I love. It gives the whole card the perfect focal point.

The sparkly white embossing is such a fun touch. It pops against the teal and catches the light so nicely. Then came the gold sequins, because this card needed a little extra party. Soft color, shiny bits, and a whole lot of birthday cheer.

Wrapped Up in Teal and Yellow

This card rounds out the top 3 ideas I had to make first. I love a tone on tone background, and the birthday sentiments say all the things without making it feel too busy. I kept the colors to teal and yellow, and that combo felt perfect to keep on hand for the guys. Fresh, clean, and a little bold.

The giant present was so easy to put together. And that tiny tag is just the cutest little decoration. It is simple, graphic, and perfect to hold a birthday giftcard inside.

I had so much fun with these birthday card ideas. They all have their own vibe, but the color story keeps everything feeling happy and pulled together. I hope they spark something fun for your next round of birthday cards.
