Two Pretty Ways to Play With Florals

I love a good floral set that lets me play a little. Big flowers, pretty backgrounds, sweet sentiments. Yes, please.

I’m playing with the You’ve Got a Friend Collection by Hero Arts for two floral card ideas that start with the same supplies and go in different directions. One card is all about those big layered blooms, and the other uses the floral stencil for a full background moment.

Stacked Flowers, Stenciled Texture

I started with the stenciled checker background because I wanted a little something behind those big solid flowers. Nothing too busy. Just enough texture to keep the white space from feeling empty. Then I layered the blooms over the top and let them overlap a bit. I really like how clean and graphic this one feels.

The sentiments were stamped, die cut, and layered together right over the flowers. I like that they become part of the design. Then I added a few little hearts because I love hearts, and they are such a sweet little detail.

Full Floral Background

I love it when a stencil can create a gorgeous background and still be easy. I’m using the same colors from the first card to create this one but using the softer ones for the stenciled background.

I covered the card base with Dahlia colorwheel cardstock, then added the floral stenciled panel right in the center. The frame of color around the edges makes the whole background feel more finished.

I stamped and die cut a few of the sayings into strips. I thought it would be fun to group them under the big hello friend. It gives the card a fun, layered look while still being able to see that pretty background. And of course, a few little hearts made their way in too. I love them for filling tiny spaces and adding just a bit more sweetness.

I love how these two cards started with the same floral idea but ended up feeling so different. The big blooms give the first card that bold, graphic look, and the full floral background on the second card makes everything feel bright and happy.
