Today is all about creating a no stamping guy card using the new Classic Road Legends 2.0 Collection from Spellbinders. If you’d like to make a card with classic car vibes, this collection makes it easy with layered stencils and dies that do all the work!

My husband and I see a group of older guys who meet every Saturday at our local breakfast spot. They all roll up in their classic cars, then sit and visit the morning away. I always enjoy seeing them together and it makes my weekend start with a smile.
This card would be perfect for a classic car enthusiast like them. But honestly, I think anyone who appreciates a cool vintage vibe would enjoy it. This one is packed with hot rod style and was so much fun to put together.

Hot Rod Style

I started with the background using the Highway Horizons Desert stencils and ink blending. You just line up each stencil layer, add your color, and suddenly you have a whole desert scene. It is so neat to watch each layer bring it to life. I die cut the finished panel down and matted it with black and purple cardstock.
Gina K Designs Ink Colors:
Sun: Sweet Corn, Butterscotch
Rays: Butterscotch
Mountains: Light, Medium & Dark Lilac
Cactus: Grass Green, Asparagus
Dirt: Sandy Beach, Kraft

For the sun rays, I layered that stencil over the last desert stencil before removing it. It worked like a mask, which helped keep the rays tucked behind the landscape mountains. The rays peeking up behind the purple mountains create such a cool sunrise sky scene.
Pro Tip: Leave the final desert stencil in place while blending the sun rays. It acts as a built-in mask, keeping the rays tucked neatly behind the mountains.
The Hot Flames Roadster was such a fun die set to put together. I have been loving these layered dies lately because they feel like a crafty puzzle. I loved doing puzzles. The peaceful time of putting pieces together is very relaxing to me. This is similar, plus I get to use it on a card too!
Colorwheel Cardstock colors: Lilac, Beeswax, Saffron, Fog, Anchor, Raven, Vellum

The middle flames were colored with a Y18 Copic marker. Staying in those little lines was probably the hardest thing on this whole card to do! Then I softened the headlights a little by adding a vellum layer. I added a sentiment from the Cruisin’ By Stamp & Die Set and left the inside blank for now. I can pick the perfect one for when I need a card for one of my guys.
I love how this one turned out. It has that classic car personality, an easy desert scene, and not one bit of stamping needed. Definitely a fun idea for a guy-friendly card with a little extra vroom.
