3 Cards with All the Spring Feels | Hero Arts In Full Bloom

Ok friends… I’m ready for spring! How about you? I guess I’ll have to make my own spring in card form.

The brand new February My Monthly Super Hero kit: In Full Bloom arrived today and it is packed with lovely stamps, stencils and dies. I have three spring card ideas using this kit that capture those soft, springy vibes we’re all starting to crave.

Die Cut Florals with Watercolor

This one is soft and dreamy and just plain pretty. I started with a gentle watercolor wash using Distress Ink re-inkers. Watercolor paper makes it all blend like magic with a few water and white splatters at the end. All those delicate white and vellum die cut blooms got bundled up into a sweet little bouquet.

Distress Ink Colors: Spun Sugar, Saltwater Taffy 

And that skinny little bow? Just the right touch to tie it all together. Literally. Love how light and floaty this one feels.

Peachy Floral Background with Butterflies

I couldn’t resist turning those solid florals into a background. They’re just the right size to mix and match in soft peachy tones. I added a few white embossed butterflies to float through the scene and popped up the white embossed sentiment to finish things off.

Gina K Ink Colors: Peach Bellini, Lipstick

This one has such a sweet and happy feel. The stamped background does all the work and the embossing adds just the right shimmer.

Bunny Scene with Cotton Candy Skies

Cutest little bunny, right? I used the layering stencils to color the big flower and the bunny with ink blending. I layered a few grass die cuts at the bottom of a die cut arched panel to start building the scene.

Gina K Ink Colors: Light Carnation, Medium Carnation, Wild Dandelion, Grass Green, Soft Stone

Soft pink cotton candy clouds, a plaid embossed background, and that pop of color in the flower just bring it all together.

This kit was perfect for trying out all kinds of different techniques and styles. From soft watercolor and vellum layers to scene building and stamped backgrounds, it was really fun to play. If you’re dreaming up your own spring card ideas, I hope these designs spark something for you too.
