Extraordinary Kitty with Markers

Orange tabby kitty from Bouquet of Purrs colored with Copic markers on a framed card with Lil’ One pattern paper, simple critter coloring, Card designed by Lisa Arana dahlhouse-designs.com.

This sweet kitty from Bouquet of Purrs was made for Copic markers, and I leaned all the way into that bright, happy look with an orange tabby vibe. The layout stays nice and clean with a Postage Die frame using And Then it Was Spring paper, then Lil’ One pattern paper steps as the background. It feels fresh, playful, and fast, which is exactly what I want when I just want to sit down and color.

Copic Colors:

Cat: YR04, Y15, R81; Flowers: YG13, YG17, Y15, R83, R85, V15, V17; Shirt: B00, B01, N1, N3; Sky: B00; Shading & Blending: N1, 0

Hay Thanks with Watercolor

Highland cow critter from Seen & Herd colored with Distress Watercolor Pencils on a clean layered card with Where Little Gardens Grow pattern paper, simple critter coloring, Card designed by Lisa Arana dahlhouse-designs.com.

For this one, I switched to Distress Watercolor Pencils with the Seen & Herd stamp set, and it instantly gave everything that softer, airy watercolor feel. The design is another simple layout with easy layers, and the Where Little Gardens Grow pattern paper adds just enough of a background without stealing the spotlight from the coloring. It is simple critter coloring, but with a totally different soft finish.

Distress Pencil Colors:

Cow: Ground Espresso, Frayed Burlap; Bird: Mermaid Lagoon; Grass & Flowers: Mowed Lawn, Seedless Preserves; Sky: Tumbled Glass

Cute critters just get me every time. I hope these two cards make you want to pull out a favorite stamp, grab your go-to coloring medium, and make something pretty today, nice and easy. Which one would you start with first for some simple critter coloring, that bright tabby kitty or the softer watercolor farm friend?
